Photographic historical murals for Oakville’s new fire station.

“Pride. Courage. Compassion.” is the motto firefighters live by. With a new fire station opening in the Town of Oakville, the Fire Department wanted to fill their blank white walls with photos to honour and commemorate their brotherhood. Hundreds of images were supplied for the large 23 foot long mural — featured in a main interior hallway — while only a handful were chosen that best represented their diverse jobs, heroism and history.

Following the installation of the first mural, the Fire Department reached out to have a longer wall (40 feet) in the same facility filled with a collage of more historical photos. A similar effect was applied for cohesiveness between both pieces. The murals were unveiled to the fire department and community during a public grand opening event of the new fire station.
